No Kidding...

A friend just directed me here.
Man speaks the truth.
If only my Store (now to be referred to with a capital "S") believed in the serf-free employment plan discussed therein.

I loved the part of the link this post took us to about how teens & college kids apply for jobs. I managed a retail store for many years, and let me tell you- you come in dressed in jeans, t-shirts or like a thug or a slut, you'll never work for me. I remember being taught in school how to dress for interviews & how to ask for an application.
I once had a roommate who worked for a record store. He was interupted while talking to a customer by a young "man" dressed like thug, pants off his ass, and saying "ya'll hirin' up in this bi#@h?" True story. Ain't retail grand?

We get a lot of parents coming in and getting applications for their kids. And how much do we want to hire people who can't be bothered to pick up and fill out their own job applications? The answer - SO much!

or how about when they drag their babies in when they ask for the application? You can't bother to get a sitter when you are trying to make an impression, so what happens when you are hired?
